A ‘zodiac’ is basically a constellation through which the Sun passes during its movement. Most of the constellations are named after animals and are found above and beneath the Sun. However, we can’t see them because the Sun’s brightness conceals them. In 1930, the International Astronomical Union defined 12 signs of the zodiac. However, nowadays there are 13, after identifying Ophiuchus, the serpent bearer. However, this constellation isn’t part of the regular zodiacs.
